Software development
Business software, built to a written scope.
Custom business software built to a written scope: internal tools, back-end services, web portals and improvements to existing systems.
What we do
- We build new software for a clearly defined business need, and improve or extend software you already have.
- We write tests alongside the code, use version control from the first day, and keep the work in a repository you can see.
- We keep designs simple and use well-known open-source tools, so another developer can pick up the work later.
Typical projects
General examples of the kind of work we take on. They are not descriptions of past clients.
- An internal tool that replaces a spreadsheet or a manual process.
- A back-end service or API that other systems or apps connect to.
- Connecting two systems you already use so data moves between them without copying by hand.
- Scripts and tools that move data from an old system to a new one, with checks that nothing was lost.
- Fixing, updating or adding features to an existing application.
Tech we use
- TypeScript and Node.js, Python, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Docker for repeatable builds and deployment.
- Automated tests and a build pipeline that checks every change.
- We can work with your existing stack where it is reasonable to do so, and we say so in the quote if it isn’t.
Your data
- We never use your data to train AI or machine learning models without your written consent, and only for your own project.
- We prefer test data or de-identified samples during development, and ask for real data only when a task needs it.
More on our Privacy Notice.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell hardware or supply software licences on your behalf.
- We don’t test the security of systems that you don’t own or aren’t authorised to have tested.
- We don’t give financial, investment, legal, tax or medical advice, and we don’t provide any regulated financial service.
- We never hold, receive or move money on behalf of clients or their customers.
Every project must also follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
How we work
Every project follows the same steps: a scoping call, a written fixed-scope quote with the price, milestones you review, and a handover with the source code, documentation and access. Ownership of the source code passes to you once the agreed price is paid in full.
Support is available Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30 (our time zone, UTC+4), except public holidays, with no out-of-hours or on-call service.

Who does the work
Our services are delivered by qualified independent contractors, under the supervision of our board.
All work is delivered remotely, on a professional services basis.
We work with small and medium-sized businesses and individual professionals buying for their professional work. We serve customers worldwide, except where we’re incorporated.
